Bad luck indeed.
I sadly just had to drop from this season’s Team in Training. You might remember that I was signed up to do the Nike Women’s Marathon this October with Team in Training. But because my fundraising has totally stalled out, I am unable to re-commit to the team. Bummer. But I do have a plan in place, and I will be back in the future seasons. I was really looking forward to running in Cali, and with the team too.
However on a brighter note…don’t forget about the ‘Trophy Bands giveaway! Because really who doesn’t like free stuff!?
My very first giveaway!
I recently worked with another blogger to do a ‘Trophy Bands giveaway and it was a great success. I held a “pop-up shop” at a Team in Training training a few weeks back and sold tons…so now I am offering a giveaway on my blog!
‘Trophy Bands are headbands that don’t slip! They stay put all day so you don’t have to! I started K@tastrophy Designs and ‘Trophy Bands last year as a way to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society as a participant in Team in Training. I had been searching for years for a headband that would stay put all day, and especially during exercise. Every one I tried just slipped right off, and often times went flying across the room! But now, I don’t have to worry about that any more!
I will be honest, I purchased a rather expensive similar headband and it worked great. But it was really expensive and I wanted more! So I got crafty and got to work at the sewing machine! It didn’t take long before my friends were snatching them up! And the bonus is that they are a bit more affordable than some of the other competitors.
Right now the K@tastrophy Designs site has tons of designs for headbands, and I am so amazed at how this has grown over the last year! There are new designs added every season, and I am busy designing new Special Occasion ‘Trophy Bands hopefully to be out by the Holiday Season this year. And I have started taking custom orders as well! Own your own business? These headbands are a great way to advertise your business and get your name out there! Or if you are looking for a specific color, or pattern I am more than happy to oblige.
I also added a fundraising option this spring because after all that is why I started this in the first place; and I love giving back to my community.

I realized the other day that I have not posted an update on my running lately! Well I have good news!
I have been running like crazy lately! After the Be The One Run I have been able to run, and run, and run. I even had a little Forrest Gump moment a few weeks ago and ran 7 miles! This past Saturday I ran 8.5 miles, for the 2nd weekend in a row. I am super proud of my running skills now. I have pushed myself over the last few months and I am super pumped to run the Nike Women’s marathon in October! I know that in just a few short months I will be crossing that finish line with pride.
Buuuuut…I can’t get there without reaching my fundraising goal for Team in Training! So that means I need your help! You may know that I started my own design company a few years ago and K@tastrophy Designs is going to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sales of ‘Trophy Bands to my Team in Training fundraising! AND donate the entire proceeds from the sale of the TNT ‘Trophy Bands to my fundraising! So head on over to K@tastrophy Designs and get your ‘Trophy Bands today!
Just want to send you a quick recap of what you sent and how much I appreciate everything you put in the box, so thoughtful and useful! So the best part wasn’t even food: your running headbands are awesome! I’ve just started running myself, and sometimes just getting new running gear is a good motivator to go lol The Justin’s almond butter was so good, I’ve had that before but forgot all about it. Perfect for a snack at my desk and easy to put in my purse! Chips and salsa are always a great snack and the spice in the chips was a change from my usual chips (hint of jalapeno had been my go-to for a while!) . I was surprised at the That’s All bars, I’d never seen those before and were so good…I’m a sweets person and they were really good and satisfied my need for something sweet at 3pm without hittin the candy jar! Lol
I have tasted the BBQ sauce but that is the one recipe that I haven’t had a chance to try yet. Busy month of April, but soon enough im excited to try some bbq made with rootbeer! Sounds super easy and delicious.
Thanks so much for sharing your favs with me, they’ll be added to my shopping list now too!
I am so glad that Megan liked her package! Megan received: Chips and salsa, “Bone-suckin BBQ” sauce, my recipe for “The best darn pulled pork”, some “That’s it!” bars and some Justin’s butter along with 2 of my ‘Trophy Bands as a surprize! I am so excited to do this again next month! Who ever gets my package this month will be getting a little taste of Ft. Hood, Texas!
If you are interested in the headbands Megan mentioned please go to K@tastrophy Designs and get yours today!
And many, many thanks to Lindsay over at The Lean Green Bean for putting this together month after month!
